  • This one-hour, non-interactive session offers a professional demonstration of the techniques used to create art on leather. Attendees will observe the detailed craftsmanship and storytelling that define this unique artistic tradition.

  • Our workshops feature the art of decorating leather. Learn to create beautiful & functional pieces by using tools & materials to breathe life into visions, resulting in unique pieces that showcase skill and creativity.

    This one-hour interactive workshop accommodates up to 12 students and introduces hands-on techniques for creating art on leather. Participants will have the opportunity to design their own square leather canvas or craft a personalized bracelet featuring their name or custom artwork.

  • This one-hour session may include a 20-minute screening of Ashes to Ashes, the acclaimed documentary on Winfred Rembert, and can be accompanied by a book signing to further engage audiences with his powerful story and legacy.

  • ‘Being Unique is a Gift ' was an important phrase that Winfred Sr frequently said to his children as they were growing up. 

    We invite youth to make a collaborative drawing that illustrates the participants’ visual interpretations of the statement ‘Being Unique is a Gift.’

    Winfred Rembert Jr will discuss locking into your individual talents and guiding you to see your individual self.

  • Rembert Estate offers two  short films with a discussion afterwards featuring a member of the Rembert family.

    Ashes to ashes: A 20-minute Documentary. Winfred Rembert, the only living survivor of a lynching. A memorial for the forgotten 4,000 African Americans lynched during the Jim Crow era, their journeys of healing intertwine.

    All Me: Life & Times of Winfred Rembert: 1 hour 15 minutes with his intensely autobiographical paintings depicting the day-to-day existence of African Americans in the segregated South, Winfred Rembert has preserved an important, if often disturbing, chapter of American history.
